f(x) is a Korean pop group formed of 5 females. They were formed under SM Entertainment in 2009.

Their name takes the appearance of the mathematical notation for function. They represent the f to stand for flower and the x to represent the females double x chromosome.

Their debut song in 2009 was La Cha Ta.

Their music incorporates a lot of choreographed dancing and female rappers with pop music which is becoming more popular in Korean pop girl bands.
