SS501 is a K-Pop/R&B band debuted with 5 members in 2005. They were under the management of DSP Media but later expired their contract in 2010, though the band has not officially disbanded. SS501 apparently stands for "Superstar Singer five members united as one forever." They were famous in Japan before they really debuted in Korea and the band was also responsible for Hyun Joong's acting in the live action drama of Hana Yori Dango also known as Boys Over Flowers.
