Kiriko Takemura known as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu s a Japanese pop artist, model, and blogger from the Harajuku district of Tokyo, Japan. Her debut was with her album Pamyu Pamyu Revolution which released in May, 2012. Kyary originally started her career as a fashion blogger and then started modeling for Harajuku fashion magazines such as Kera! and Zipper. She got her name as a nickname from her classmates in school as she embraced western appearance and culture. The alternate spelling of Kyary is Carrie. Her first promo single was PonPonPon released in July, 2011 which she cited Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry as inspirations.
