Maximum the hormone is a Japanese nu-metal/hardcore punk band hailing from Hachioji, Tokyo and started in 1998. The band was quickly signed to Sky REcords and released their first album A.S.A. Crew.  Daisuke-han had his brother Ryo-kun join the band since he started guitar when he was in junior high school. Daisuke focused on the screaming and rap vocals and Ryo was responsible for the melodic parts of the songs. One song that made the band very popular was their song Koi no Mega Lover in 2006 reaching #9 on the Oricon chart. They also are known for their songs "What's Up, People?!" and "Zetsubou Billy" on the anime Death Note as well as Akagi for the ending song to the anime Akagi.
